AHPRA REGISTERED OR ENROLLED NURSE – EXPERIENCED IN MENTAL HEALTH 

Assessments & Admissions – Intake Officer
  • Wallace Street Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced, mental health nurse who is passionate about providing consumer centred care
  • We are seeking on behalf of our client an AHPRA Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with experience in Mental Health
  • The hospital is an independent mental health facility with a focus to inspire hope and promote wellness in every patient on their road to recovery

  • The hospital is keen to provide ongoing training to the successful candidate
  • If you are an experienced MH RN or EN on a Working Holiday Visa and you are seeking to stay longterm in Australia, the hospital will consider a Sponsorship Visa
The Role
  • Our client, located on the north shore of Sydney, is a 57 bed, teaching hospital affiliated with the University of NSW
  • The position is a permanent fulltime position – Monday - Friday - days
      The Intake Officer will: 
  • Conduct initial assessments and screenings for new patients
  • Manage the admission process for inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for their patients and their families
  • Provide assistance on the floor when required
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals, patients and families to gather necessary information
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all admissions
  • Assist with insurance verification and the pre-authorisation process

Essential Criteria:
  • AHPRA Nurses Registration – unrestricted
  • Highly developed skills in the mental health area
  • A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
  • A team player with the ability to work independently, along with strong organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including phone manner
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
  • A National Criminal History Record Check and a Working With Children Check
