AHPRA Registered Nurse
Are you a highly motivated Registered Nurse with experience in cancer care and oncology looking for career progression and/or a sea change?
Wallace Street Recruitment, on behalf of the management of a well-respected Regional Hospital in New South Wales, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Cancer Care/Oncology Unit, to join their team. The role is permanent and fulltime.
About the Hospital, the Unit and the Role
The hospital is a lovely, 64 bed Private Hospital, located near the beach, on the Mid-North Coast of NSW. The unit consists of 8 chairs and 1 bed, with chemotherapy being conducted Monday to Friday. The unit caters to both public and private patients.
- This role will provide you with the opportunity to:
- Use your advanced clinical skills to assess, plan, organise, evaluate and deliver specialist high quality nursing care in order to achieve clinical outcomes for each cancer care/oncology patient/client
- Create and maintain an environment that is one of best practice and continuous improvement
- Develop strong working relationships with physicians and VMO’s
- Further develop your leadership skills
- Contribute and participate in the development of specialist education including care pathways for patients/clients, carers and the community, along with the education and mentoring of staff
- Participate in relevant patient safety, quality education and delivery of services in accordance with the National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards
- Work with and report to the Director of Clinical Services, along with the Regional CEO and, work with a committed hospital team, to deliver high standard patient experiences and outcomes
- Develop key external relationships with the Community Cancer Team, General Practitioners, Visiting Medical Officers and the surrounding Oncology services
Essential Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Working With Children Check
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance
- Relevant cancer care and acute care experience (minimum 3 years post-graduate)
- Post graduate registration qualifications in cancer care (or evidence of working towards)
- Demonstrated experience in clinical education and a drive for clinical excellence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong leadership skills
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
- A high degree of computer literacy in desktop applications and patient management systems
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment and also foster a positive team environment
