Wallace Street Recruitment, on behalf of the management of well-respected Private Hospital in Melbourne, is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager of the Oncology Unit, to join their team.
About Hospital
The Hospital is located within 25’ of the Melbourne CBD. With 186 registered beds, a 12 cubicle Emergency Department, 4 operating theatres, 12 bed critical care complex and busy Day Procedure Unit the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community. The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.
As the Oncology Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical leadership to the Oncology ward to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients
- Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management
- Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based
- Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment
- Providing guidance, mentoring and support to your team
- Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources
- Undertaking direct patient care, as required
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Essential Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Working With Children Check
- Relevant experience at NUM level or equivalent (minimum 3 years)
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role
- Demonstrated HR management experience
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
- High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
- A thorough orientation and continuous professional development, education & support provided to encourage growth
